Less is more.
Your guide to In A Nutshell: how the game works, and how to film and edit it for social media.
Get to know the game
A head-to-head guessing game where less is more. Play 1v1 or split into two teams. If you can see the question you'll know the answer. The fun is working out how few words you need before the answer clicks.

Two ways to play
Both have gone viral organically for us.

Nutpicker
- One player sees the whole question.
- They hide as many words as they dare.
- The team guesses from what's left.
β Fewer words = more points. One word = dream result.

Hot Nutato
- Open one word for the OTHER team.
- They guess, or open one for you and pass it back.
- First correct answer wins the point.
π Try to pick the most useless word you can for the other team.
How to film
Film several rounds
One session should give you multiple videos.
Keep the game visible
Box / revealer in shot where possible.
Use your people
Partners, family, friends, big teams. Whoever makes your content work.
Camera set-up ideas
Just the cluegiver
One cluegiver on screen, reacting to all the comments of the other players that can be heard in the background.
They can either give their thought process on which words they're going to hide, or have already revealed their words, so that's all you can see, and instead react to the other players talking about what they think the answer might be.
Just the guessers
Show the guessers on screen, with the cluegiver's reactions heard in the background.
1-3 people in frame, then jump
Keep 1-3 people in the frame at one time, then jump to the others in the edit.
Everyone in one shot
A big group with all the players in shot. You can pan from side to side.
Play with energy
In A Nutshell is built for ridiculous guesses, big reactions, arguments, shock and genuine "HOW?!" moments. Capture plenty with clear frames/shots of people. Then build the edit around the moment everyone laughed, shouted, argued or completely lost it.
